“We’ve shown Ghana and others that we are the giants of Africa,” Majekodunmi said. “Our focus now is on the World Cup ticket. We’ll take it one game at a time.” He emphasized that this achievement is part of a broader vision to uplift Nigerian youth football, adding that strong support from the NFF and the country is essential to keep driving forward.

Majekodunmi also extended gratitude to the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, and the NFF Secretary General, for their consistent support for the Youth Committee’s efforts.

“I want to thank the NFF President and Secretary General, whose support has been invaluable to our committee,” he said, adding that the achievements thus far are a reflection of the entire NFF board’s hard work and collaboration. He commended all board members for their roles, acknowledging that their united efforts are essential in building a future for Nigerian football.

The Flying Eagles’ tournament journey has been filled with resilience and standout moments. Falling behind within nine minutes against Niger in the semi-final, they regrouped and dominated, with Clinton Jephta netting two goals and goalkeeper Ifeanyi Harcourt making critical saves. Their comeback now sets up a high-stakes final with their long-time rivals, Ghana.

As Majekodunmi concluded, “The journey has just begun.” With ongoing support from the NFF and the Nigerian football community, he believes the Flying Eagles can take Nigerian football to new heights, especially as they prepare to claim a World Cup ticket.
