Chairman of FC Robo Queens of Lagos, Emmanuel Osahon has revealed that his main focus now is on winning subsequent league matches and not on the Champions League spot, despite defeating Nasarawa Amazon 1-0 in week one of the Nigeria Women Football.
Against all odds, the Lagos-based Premier club display a superlative performance and it was a delight to watch at Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa State when Esther Sobowale’s goal in the 32nd minutes silence the home fans to end the pulsating encounter 1-0 in favor of FC Robo Queens.
Emmanuel Osahon in a chat with Sports247 described the match as keenly a contested game but quick to say that his girls took their chance to get a better result against their opponents.
“Honestly it was a tough game and both teams played to fans’ expectations. What gave us victory today (Wednesday) was that we took our chances we created in the first half which gave us victory,” he said.
Aside from that, he said his girls were more determined and prepared mentally, physically, and psychologically for the game despite the challenges on the road on their way to Lafia.
Commenting on the champions League slot if he is focusing on being reported on social media, Osahon said it is too early for him to target the Champions League slot noting that he wants to focus on the league match one after the other.
“I read it on social media that I am focusing on champions league slot, I did not say that, what I am focusing on now is how I will win my next game and subsequent matches. The league has just started so I am focusing more on our next match against Osun Babes come Wednesday in Lagos,” he concluded.
