Dannaz FC completed the Nationwide League One (NLO) Division Two after and intense six matches in seven days and gained promotion to the NLO division one which head coach of the side says is not a new thing to him as the aim is to develop the players.
“I’m happy about it but it was very tough, intense and demanding playing six matches in seven games,” Fatai told Sports247.
“Towards the end, fatigue began to set in while we had two very important back to back games to play but then I’m proud the players could manage it,” he added.
“We have to continue from where we stopped. A lot of emphasis is on developing the players, especially the young ones as we try to ensure the team is about 80% young players who have the potential and are ready to take it to the next level,” he added.
Coach Akande formerly promoted AS Racine to the NLO 2 and also Ijebu United to the NLO One and he believes this is just one of the moments but his focus is on what happens next.
“We build now towards our preparation for the NLO One as getting promotion is not a new thing to me after I did it with AS Racine and Ijebu United, it’s just to be able to know the terrain, get support from the management and other details with the players. We’ll build on the quality, bring in more young talents and keep developing them,” coach Fatai concluded.
