Osun United head coach, Oluseye Ajayi, has reaffirmed his team’s ambition of securing a place in the NNL Super 8 Playoff this season.
After narrowly missing out on qualification on the final day of the previous campaign, the Osogbo-based side is determined to make amends.
“We fell short last season, but this time, we are fully focused and motivated to achieve our goal. The players understand the challenge ahead and are ready to give their all,” Ajayi stated.
A former Shooting Stars (3SC) and Julius Berger forward who also had a stint in Oman, Ajayi has been impressed with his squad’s tactical discipline and concentration.
Currently sitting second in the NNL Conference A standings, Osun United has won six of their nine matches, drawn one, and lost two. Their impressive away form includes a crucial 2-1 victory over Sporting Lagos, a former NPFL side.
With 11 goals scored and only five conceded, Osun United remains in a strong position to push for a Super 8 spot as the season progresses.
