The management of Osun United has lauded the state government and sports stake holders in the state for their continuous support for the club.
The current club management was inaugurated on the 8th of May, 2019 by the state governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
In celebration of a year anniversary, the club’s Vice President,Layi Adesiyan through the club’s media officer, Tajudeen Amodu released a statement appreciating stake holders at all levels.
“We appreciate the State Government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola who approved the constitution of the board and was physically present together with the entire cabinet members on May 8, 2019 during the inauguration. We lauded efforts of the Immediate Past Commissioner for Sports, Social Protection and Special Needs, Comrade Biyi Odunlade and the immediate past Cabinet as well as the House Committee on Sports then, led by Honourable Tajudeen Famuyide.”
“Since the inauguration of the board, the government has been very supportive, beginning with the return of Osun United to the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the regular payment of salaries of the entire team. We say a big thank you.” The statement added.
The statement further rained praises on the state’s sport commissioner, Honourable Yemi Lawal for a job well done.
“Since he came on board last year as the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hon. Yemi Lawal has been very instrumental to the accomplishment of our plans and programs. We appreciate his support greatly, together with those of the ministry.”
The club also paid tributes to the former chairman of Osun state football association, late chief Taiwo Ogunjobi in the statement.
“Although he is no more, his legacy is what we are building on. May God continue to bless the Former President of the Club, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi and be with his family. We similarly laud efforts of the immediate past board member of Osun United led by Engineer Jimoh Olayemi among others.”
