Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola has affirmed that his administration would continue to pay more attention to school sports in order to catch athletes young, saying that grassroots sports development remains the key factor for achieving effective sporting activities and growth.
Oyetola maintained that huge resources have been splashed to the growth of sports in the state with the addition of more qualified trainers, coaches as the construction of a befitting stadium is ongoing.
He posited: “Our youths remain the tool for achieving the much-needed unity at these seemingly turbulent times and always, it is my prayer that Nigeria will continue as a united country and may we through sports achieve unity and peace.”
Oyetola, however, pledged the government’s continued commitment to provide a more enabling environment, modern equipment, and adequate resources for the training of sportsmen and women in order to enhance their performances.
