Founder of Joint Football Club, Dr. Osondu Martin Ibegbu has promised to sponsor ten coaches within Oto Awori Football Coaches Council in Lagos to the National Institute For Sports, NIS in order to equip them ahead of future challenges.
Osondo who is also a Chief Executive Officer of Bigcoach Talent and Entertainment Agency in a statement issued to Sports247.ng said his agency is seriously planning to send a coach to NIS each year for the next ten years.
He noted that many coaches in his council who are good do not have basic coaching certificates and the time has come to empower them to get the needed certificate to equip themselves for the task ahead.
“I have decided to upgrade the coaches in my council and I am using this medium to sponsor a coach to NIS meaning that a coach would be sent to NIS every year from my council.
“My vision is to make sure that all the coaches in Otto Awori Football Coaches Council are certified coaches through NIS. This is the little I can start from and by the Grace of the Almighty God, I will do more for my council,” he said.
Osondu urged his colleagues in the coaching line who are yet to get coaching certificates across Lagos to enroll themselves for coaching certificates in NIS saying that the time would come only certified coaches would be employed at the grassroots clubs.
