Retired Italian football player and former Napoli striker Massimo Palanca has questioned the abilities of Victor Osimhen, stating that the Nigerian isn’t mature enough.
Palanca who spent his entire playing days at various clubs across Italy’s divisions was being interviewed by TMW.
When asked about Osimhen, the 67-year-old said: “While he was injured he was unlucky. In the sense that he went to look for many things. Still, as ahead, I don’t see him ready to be a high-level footballer. I still don’t see him absolutely mature.”
Osimhen recently scored on his return to action for Napoli last weekend against Bologna in Serie A.
The 22-year-old has so far experienced a rough start to life in Italy after arriving from Lille last summer for a huge transfer fee.
The forward has managed three goals and a single assist for Napoli this season, having spent some time on the sidelines due to injuries and Covid-19.
