Victor Osimhen has expressed strong confidence that his Super Eagles teammate, Ademola Lookman, will be crowned the CAF African Player of the Year.
During a recent appearance on the Dapoceo Podcast, Osimhen praised Lookman for his dedication and impressive performances, stating, “He’s a passionate guy, he does his job diligently.

I’m really happy for him but of course, we all know he’s going to win the African Player of the Year. I am 100% sure he will win it”.
Lookman has had an outstanding season, both for his club, Atalanta, and the Nigerian national team.
He scored three goals in seven matches during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, earning a place in the Team of the Tournament.
His exceptional performance extended to the European stage, where he netted a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, showcasing his skill on one of the biggest platforms in club football.
Osimhen also reflected on Lookman’s journey and the significance of his potential win for Nigeria.
He noted, “I already told him he’s bringing it home and he deserves it as he has done so well for us. It’s a win for Nigeria because he has represented us well.”
