Female table tennis icon, Funke Oshonaike has reiterated her ambition to don Nigeria’s colours again at the next Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Though Oshonaike is already Nigeria’s most capped female Olympian, she admitted in a chat with sports247.ng that she wants to be at Tokyo 2020.
The Germany-based ping-pong star expressed her utmost desire to be part of Team Nigeria, as she wants to mark her final appearance at the world stage for the country.
Oshonaike, however, admitted that qualifying for the Olympics through the All Africa Games will be a tough challenge for her.
She stressed: “I want to qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, and call time on my career for Nigeria.
“But I know that qualifying through the African Games will not be easy, because there are no underdogs any more.”
