Osevan FC of Kwale and Big Daddy FC of Agbor are through to the Finals of the first Edition of the Delta North Football Coaches Association TOURNAMENT after Winning Ihuyase FC Agbor and United FC Asaba 2-0 and 1-0 Respectively.
Goals in each half was all that Osevan needed to silence Ihuyase in an epic encounter on Saturday at Ogwashi Uku.
Ihuyase were more dominant in the match but failed to deliver in the final third while Osevan were content to sit deep and hit their opponents on the counter. The Coach Achugbue Whyte led Osevan lads were more Tactical and technical in their approach and got the job done to book their place in the finals.
” The ground wasn’t very helpful for our style of play and my boys couldn’t produce what we expected, we are happy to get to this stage and hopefully we can do better in the future” IHUYASE head Coach Timothy stated.
“We have studied the opponents and came up with a game plan to soak the pressure and my boys played to instruction” an excited Coaxh Whyte of Osevan said moments after the match.
“We respected our opponents and sat deep but hit them on.the counter which gave us the result, we look forward to the finals ” the Coach who is also the Assistant Coach of Delta Queens added.
Meanwhile Big Daddy FC Agbor Prevailed over United FC of Asaba 1-0 after enduring about 75 minutes with a man down.
Defender Abel got sent off in the 25tj minute for a second bookable offense and a resilient Big Daddy side fought hard to get the win.
The first half ended 0-0 but 6 minutes after the restart Simon was brought down inside the box and the striker rose to fire home from the 12 yard.
Big Daddy overcame everything United threw at them and won the tie to book their ticket to the finals.
“We gave our best but unfortunately it wasn’t enough, congrats to Big Daddy” The United FC Coach said.
“We Give God the glory for leading us to the finals, my player did a stupid mistake and got sent off, l already rebuked him however we didn’t give up, we fought hard and won, hopefully we will plan better for the finals” Coach Ibrahim Musa of Big Daddy Fc said.
Chairman of the Delta North Football Coaches Association, Coach Okwutu Emeka was highly ekated to see the tournament get to the final stage and commended all the teams that participated while congratulating the finalists.
“It’s been a great tournament, we have moved been to Kwale, Agbor, Ogwashi Uku and all the teams had displayed good football. Congrats to the two finalist, we expect to see the best in the finals” he said.
“The level of football displayed has shown that the region is blessed with abundant talents, about 16 teams took part in the Tournament and we hope to improve on that in future editions” Coach Emmanuel Enthused.
The Finals of the Delta North Football Coaches Tournament has been fixed for Agbor in a fortnight time.
