USA-based Nigerian female tennis rising star, Osabuohien has declared that her biggest task now is to build on the experience she gained from playing at the just ended first phase of Lagos Tennis Open 2018.
The 24-year-old Osabuohien said she is happy with the wildcard that helped her participate in the competition, which she told sports247.ng was her first in Nigeria.
She has now turned her attention on the Futures 5 stage of the competition, but admits mixing tennis with education has not been easy.
Osabuohien disclosed: “I was born in Chicago; my dad is Edo and mum is from the United States.
“I’ve been here before with my family about five years ago but this is my first visit to play tennis and I’m enjoying every bit of it.
“It’s exciting and I’m delighted that I got a Wild Card. I’m just grateful to have the opportunity to play in both tournaments (Futures 4 and 5).
“It’s very competitive and that’s what I expected before making the trip here.
“I was expecting to do better than I did but I’m happy that I have another chance to redeem it in the second leg of the competition. I just want to play a good match, put up a good fight and give my best.”
