2018 National Junior Women’s League Tennis champion, Tosin Oribamise has stated that featuring at the just concluded Olympic Youths Games in Buenos Airies, Argentina was an eye opening experience for her after returning without a medal.
Oribamise says the outing was a tough one for her and that the level of competition there clearly shows that she has a long way to go if she must excel beyond the continent of Africa.
“Every situation brings about new things and lessons. Mine isn’t different. I really learnt a lot in Argentina which has helped become stronger and focused on the future.”
“The Olympic Youth Games was an eye opening event for me. It was a competition which exposed me. The experience gained is my consolation,” Tosin Orimbamise said to Sports247.ng.
“It’s not all the time that the hunter will be successful in catching the game. It’s a 50-50 issue. I wanted to win a medal for Nigeria but all didn’t work out the way I planned.”
“The tournament in Argentina was a very difficult one due to the level of opposition on display. I have a long way to go in achieving my ambitions in the Tennis World. It’s something that I have taken time to think about. Betters days lies ahead of me in the Circuit.”
