Gov Wike Unity Cup Tournament Coordinator Bashir Badawiy has congratulated the Akure based side on their achievement in the Garden City of Port Harcourt.
“Congratulations to Sunshine Stars on their victory at the maiden edition of the Gov Wike Unity Cup,” Tournament Coordinator Bashir Badawiy said.
“It makes us happy to congratulate you on your triumphant performance at the maiden edition of the competition in Port Harcourt.”
“You won this Cup through hardwork, and displayed true team spirit, excellent sports skills, and strength of character in the final game against Rivers United in a keenly contested battle.
The hardworking administrator showed appreciation to those that made the tourney a success.
“I want to specially appreciate Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Nyesom Wike, Commissioner for Sports Hon Boma Iyaye, NFF Executive Committee Member Alhaji Ahmed Fresh, football stakeholders, clubs, players, coaches, fans and the media for their support during the tournament,” he confessed.
“Although I am possibly repeating myself following my words of praise to the participants on various occasions during the tournament, I, on behalf of the organizers would once again like to thank you, all members and willing helpers for putting on such a great show in the Gov Wike Unity Cup.”
“It really set the standard for all future tournaments, and will obviously be improved upon in future. As a young administrator, it was great being able on a daily basis for one week to chat with so many football friends and acquaintances in Nigeria, as well as enjoying numerous first football matches. Indeed a great advertisement for football in this country.
“Enjoy your well-earned Christmas Holidays, and I look forward to seeing you again next year.
