The competition is organized by Badagry Divisional Football Coaches Council, BDFCC in commemoration to mark the birthday of His Royal Majesty of Oba Akran of Badagry.
Speaking with our correspondent in Badagry,chairman Organising Committee, Marins Ibegbu Osondu said the tourney is annual competition saying that this year’s edition would be more better organised and colourful.
He explained furher that there is no iota of truth that only clubs from Badgry are eligible for the competition noted that clubs from outside Badagry are feel free to involve in the annual competition.
“We are targeting 64 teams to take part in the competition and we are expecting clubs from all and sundry in Lagos to come for their registrations form. Presently we have seen more than 20 teams that have shown interest in our competition and there is still room for more clubs to take part in our competition,” he said.
Osondu disclosed that competent referees were contacted for the competition and promised that all participating clubs would be treated equally. He advised the participating clubs to abide by the rules saying that any club found wanting during the tourney would be disqualified.
