Organizers of the Fusion league Championship have concluded plans to meet soon and fix a new date for the commencement of the league at the FIFA legacy pitch of the national stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Chairman of the League, Alhaji Abiodun Salau disclosed to sports247.ng on Monday that the executive committee of the league board would meet to decide the date for the commencement of the league.
“We are in advance stage to pick a new date for the league. A lot of club owners, coaches, players and media have been asking us when the league would kick off but I always tell them the league would start on October. The executive committee would meet to decide and fix a date for the commencement of the championship,” he said.
Salau disclosed that some clubs have started to pick up registration form. Note that this year’s fusion league would be better organized in terms of organization, officiating, media coverage and sponsorship deal.
He explained further that members of the executive committee have started working round the clock to achieve the set targets and urged interested club owners to complete their registration forms before the closing date.
“Immediately the date is fix for the league, we would not entertain any club to purchase the registration form. We are running out of time and we need to kick off the league in October. We are using this medium to urge the club owners to complete their forms on time before we fix a new date for the league,” he said.
