Nigeria Badminton Federation (NBF) president, Francis Orbih has thrown more light on reasons behind the body’s decision to employ a Chinese technical adviser and assistant for the country.
Making the details known in an interview with sports247.ng on Friday, Orbih stated that the federation employed the services of a Chinese manager as coach of Nigeria’s badminton team to add more value.
He added that the choice of a tactician from China is simply because the country is the best in the world for the sport.
Orbih espoused: “We want to be the best in Africa and, if possible, the world, that’s why we are going for the best coach to handle our team.
“We aspire to be the best in the world and China remains first choice in that regard, they are rated number one in badminton.
“In that regard, their coaches also rank high among the list of managers, and we thought it wise going there for someone good that needed to be employed.”
