Dear Rohr,
It would be a massive bridge you would create if you invite a couple of home base players for the next Super eagle matches.
Nigerians are yet to forget the shambolic display against Sierra Leone and the inability of you to manage a 4 goal lead without taking tactical decision management( allowing the team to equalize & score 4 goals)_
Significantly, this exposes your choice and style of play…
Recently, your comments on Nigerian home-based players got me thinking .. Productively, our best years of success and glory were entwined with home-based players in the system with a vibrant scouting network.
Record wise – Go and take a look at all the three squads that won the Nations cup for Nigeeia(1980,1994,2013) What they all had in common was players(home or foreign-based)* the blending process was the key for success _
All were ready to give an eye if need be just to secure glory.
Unfortunately, your scouting system and philosophy has blinked you to see the beauty of our home-based players –
How many times have you traveled to Jos, Kano, Port-Harcourt, or Umahia to watch an NPFL or NNL match? Possibly you have no record of that…
Even with the recent NPFL TV how many matches have you watched ??..even off-season some home base players keep fit and waiting for such opportunities…
Technically, these home-based players if scouted from points of adaptation and openness would flourish if given a chance with consistency.
Mr. Rohr, you counted on EXPERIENCE and FOREIGN BASED players_clearly you do not know and can never know Nigeria until you look back and copy from history…
Give it a try possibly it’s the formula that has been tinkering to usher in your first trophy for NIGERIA…
Better a home-based coach is given the opportunity to experiment than a foreign coach who has never won even a teacup in his entire coaching career…
