Guingamp of France striker, Desire Oparanozie has refrained from taking any personal glory for her goal that helped Nigeria beat Zambia at the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, as she says it was all down to collective efforts by all players in the Super Falcons.
Oparanozie stated as much in an interview with sports247.ng, during which she stressed that she would not have been able to score had she not received a pass from her teammates.
She then went on to hail her colleagues for a job well done and believes the Falcons are now the team to beat, following their 4-0 mauling of the Shepolopolo of Zambia in Cape Coast, Ghana.
Oparanozie, who opened the scoring for Nigeria, attributed the victory to the collective effort of every member of the team as well as sound instructions from the coaches.
She stressed: “We are all happy with the result. We all worked together, stronger for it, and we are glad that we got the desired result.
“We are also thankful to our coaches, as they trusted in our abilities, even after we lost the opening group match to South Africa.”
