Guingamp of France striker, Desire Oparanozie is still nursing an injury she copped in the semi-final of the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, thereby ruling her out of action with the Super Falcons against China on Thursday.
Sports247.ng learnt that Oparanozie has now joined the array of Falcons’ stars that will not be available for the start of their campaign at a four-nation invitational competition in China.
Already ruled out, on account of hitches with their tracvel documents are Assiat Oshoala and Ngozi Ebetre, with Operanozie now joining the list of those who will not don the green-and-white when the Falcons open the China invitational event against the hosts.
Oparanozie is yet to recover from a knee injury that ruled her out of the 2018 AWCON final against South Africa late last year, while China-based attacker, Oshoala and defender Ebere will also not be available.
The Falcons’ participation in the competition is aimed at preparing them for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France in June, for which the Nigerian team are drawn against South Korea, Norway and the hosts country.
Should they beat China on Thursday, the Falcons will go on to meet the winner between South Korea and Romania in the final this Sunday.
