Onyekuru Set To Face Fernando Llorente Threat

Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Henry Onyekuru is set to face a stern test for a regular spot in the Istanbul-based side’s starting line, as the Turkish Super Lig outfit are moving for Tottenham Hotspur striker, Fernando Llorente.

 

While Onyekuru has hit some crucial goals for Gala, since arriving from RSC Anderlecht of Belgium in the summer, he is bound to face stiffer competition for a shirt from Llorente, who sports247.ng learnt is set to land in Turkey on Tuesday.

Onyekuru, who is on loan from Everton of England, will have to step up his efforts with the club and rain even more goals, as Llorente is ready to join Galatasaray.

Onyekuru will have to be wary of the The Spanish striker has started just one Premier League game since joining Spurs from Swansea City in September 2017 and recently admitted that he is keen to move on.

Llorente, whose four league appearances this term accumulate to just 23 minutes, was initially eyeing up a return to his former club, Athletic Bilbao of Spain.

The 33-year-old will instead attempt to revive his career in Super Lig, though, as personal terms have already been agreed with Galatasaray.

Gala have also supposedly reached an agreement with Tottenham on a fee just short of £1m for Llorente, who is due to be out of contract at the end of the season.

The ex-Juventus ace has agreed terms with The Lions, who are ready to pay £904,000 for his signature, after Llorente publicly stated that he is open to a move away from Spurs.

He said: “If I have the opportunity and they come to talk to me, probably, yes, is the truth. Now or in summer? I do not know.

“It does not depend on me. To go out in the winter they would have to talk to [Tottenham chairman Daniel] Levy and I cannot do anything.”
