Onyekuru who took to his verified Instagram page expressing how he feels as he returns to training and a possible return to footballing action as soon as possible. “Blessed to be healthy enough to be back in training. I hope you all stay safe. We aim to be back in action as soon as possible” Onyekuru concluded.

Onyekuru has made seven appearances and has scored just one goal since coming to Galatasaray on loan in January from Monaco where he made only four appearances in the first half of the 2019/2020 season. He has been an essential instrument for the Turkish side before the world started experiencing the outbreak of covid19.

Although leagues across Europe are gearing up for resumption the coast is not yet totally clear as many are still sceptical for a return.

The former Everton of England player is fast becoming a prospect for the super eagles. Onyekuru was called up for the Super Eagles camp in May 2017. He made his senior debut for Nigeria in a 3–0 friendly win over Togo on 1 June 2017.
