Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Henry Onyekuru is still basking in the euphoria of his brace of goals in a 5-0 home victory against Antalyaspor on Monday, as says he gives God all the glory for making it possible.
Sports247.ng reports further that, while also casting his mind ahead of his side’s next match, this weekend against Bursaspor, Onyekuru added that he was happy to contribute two goals in taking the Istanbul-based team to second place in the Turkish Super Lig.
After a first-half lead converted by Sofiane Feghouli, Onyekuru scored Galatasaray’s second goal of the evening in the 65th minute when he converted a ball through to him by Younes Belhanda.
Badou Ndiaye scored the third for Galatasaray and Onyekuru then got the fourth in the 78th minute from a pass by Feghouli.
The brace meant an end to a short term drought for Onyekuru, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Everton of England, and the 22-year-old said he was glad to justify a starting role by his coach, Fatih Terim for their home game at Turk Telekom Stadium in Istanbul.
Gala will next play away to Bursaspor on Sunday, and Onyekuru is already thinking of netting again against the 15th placed side that also features fellow-Super Eagles’ player, Shehu Abdullahi in their defence line.
Onyekuru posted: “To God be the Glory! Another performance from the team. Feeling at home here and so happy to contribute with a brace! On to the next one.”
