Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Henry Onyekuru has declared emphatically that the spirit of togetherness in the Super Eagles’ camp will help the team beat Libya in Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Onyekuru, who is on loan from Everton of England, told sports247.ng that the Eagles have a semblance of collective responsibility, which he believes will help them overcome the Libyans.
Onyekuru said it is heartwarming to note that even the Eagles’ backroom staff and other officials are on the same plane with the players, which he says has given him added confidence that they will win on Saturday.
The former KAS Eupen and RSC Anderlecht of Belgium attacker added that the Eagles are not overconfident, since they know that Libya have a strong squad, but stressed that the players’ spirit is only about victory.
Onyekuru added: “We are all staying positive ahead of this weekend’s 2019 AFCON qualifier against Libya.
“We know it will not be an easy match, hence the team is not toying with the challenges ahead.
“The spirit among players is good and even the playing staff as well as the coaching staff are working for the good of the country.
“We are all working together to ensure that Nigeria achieves the set objective of qualifying AFCON 2019, after missing the past two tickets.”
