Onuachu Receives High Personal Rating With Eagles

FC Midtjylland of Denmark tall striker, Paul Onuachu has received very high rating and lofty scorecard from Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr, as the Franco-German tactician believes the youngster can add more bite to the Nigerian team’s attack.

Rohr stated as much during a sports progamme monitored in Lagos by sports247.ng, in which the gaffer noted that Onuachu is blessed with a great height that would always stand him out.
Although Rohr admitted Shenhua Shanghai of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is still his preferred arrow head in the Eagles’ attack, the gaffer noted that Onuachu can play support roles either on the right or left.
He went on to point out that the new invitee, who is Nigeria’s leading goals scorer across Europe in all competitions this season, can also be of immense benefit to the Eagles in alternating duties alongside Ahmed Musa, Samuel Kalu and Samuel Chukwueze.
The former Gabon, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso handler concluded with a hint that Onuachu could get at least 45 minutes action at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on Friday, against Seychelles in the last match of the qualification series for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Rohr affirmed: “We want to give many of the new players opportunities in the team. They will get their time to play at some point.
“Like Paul Onuachu; he is impressive at over two metres tall, and good with his head in aerial balls. He can also score with his feet.
“We want to see what he can do. We have Ighalo who is doing well, and scoring goals. We also have Musa, Kalu and Chukwueze.
“Onuachu can fit in with 45 minutes of play, or even more. We will see him more in training and we hope he can step up.”
