Amid Nigeria’s record-breaking performance at the African Senior Weightlifting Championship in Mauritius, heartfelt tributes are pouring in for one of the stars of the show—Onome Omolola Didih, who clinched three gold medals in the women’s 55kg category with a dominant lift of 203kg total (92kg snatch, 111kg clean & jerk).
Among the many celebrating her achievement is Coach Becky Ademoh, head of Lagos State’s female arm wrestling team and a seasoned former athlete in wrestling, weightlifting, and arm wrestling. Overflowing with pride and emotion, Coach Becky sent a powerful message of love and inspiration to Onome:

Onome’s triumph was one of several for Team Nigeria, who ended Thursday’s championship session with a stunning 15-medal haul (10 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze) from just five lifters, placing the nation squarely at the top of the medals table.
