Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi’s spot in the club may be taken over by Burkina Faso’s captain, Charles Kabore, sequel to the Nigerian star’s latest injury.
Although reports are still oscillating between six and four months for the period of Onazi’s absence, sports247.ng gathered that Trabzonspor are already making plans for a stop-gap signing.
The Trabzon-based contingency plan has now seen them sound out the possibility of getting Kabore from Krasnodar of Russia as an alternative for Onazi, who had surgery on Monday.
Consequently, Trabzonspor will reignite their interest in Kabore to fill in while Onazi recovers.
Incidentally, the 30-year-old Kabore battled against Onazi durign the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations final in South Africa, where he captained Burkina Faso in a 1-0 to the Super Eagles.
However, Trabzonspor may have to move fast to get Kabore in to replace Onazi, as their Turkish Super Lig rivals, Besiktas are also interested.
