“On the Cusps Of Glory” The Tough And Rough Journey Of Remo Stars FC To The Top

Remo Stars FC is redefining the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) landscape.

Currently sitting atop the NPFL table with 56 points, Remo Stars, a privately owned is on the cusp of making history of winning the league dominated by government owned clubs who are hugely supported by state resources.

With a few more games to the end of the season,Remo Stars are currently 8 points ahead of closest rival in the league and many purists are already ticking for the title based on the consistency they shown over the course of the season.

The journey has been rough and tough as the road was filled with thorns but with pesistency , doggedness and resolve to be travel the right distance in order to get the job done, no matter what, is paying off for the Ikenne modest club and ultimate reward is here.

Remo Stars, based in Remo Ogun State, was first promoted to the NPFL in the 2016/2017 season after spending six years in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

However, their debut season was marked by a setback, finishing 20th and eventually getting relegated back to the NNL.

Undeterred, Remo Stars worked their way back up, earning promotion to the NPFL once again. Although they faced another relegation, the team persisted, spending two seasons in the NNL before securing promotion again in 2021 as Daniel Oguodede led the Ikenne Boys’ to the big league.

As part of the plans tp grow and cope with the rigours of a top level league, Oguodede was sent to Portugal to up his coaching skills by Kunle Soname, the brain behind Remo Stars meterioc rise.

He supported Gbenga Ogunbote who took over the team, Ogunbote did the unthinkable and finished second in the league, sent the team to the CAF Champions the first ever in their history.

Keeping to the script, Daniel Oguodede returned to the team, he continued from where Ogunbote left off.

The appointment of Daniel Ogunmodede as head coach marked a significant turning point for Remo Stars. who has been part of the vision from the first day.

He has really interpreted the dream and vision into reality, keeping the high standard after Ogunbote vacated the seat after a season

Under his leadership, the team’s form has transformed, producing top notch performances, great results and pleasing playing style which makes the team attractive to the fans to watch while the compete with the best of the best in the league.

In the 2023 season, Remo Stars continued their fine form, finishing second in their group. The 2023-2024 season saw the team cement their place in the CAF Champions League qualification, finishing second on the log with 54 points.

Remo Stars’ consistency and hard work have paid off, with the team currently leading the NPFL table with 56 points from 28 games. With 10 matches remaining, the team is poised to make history, potentially becoming NPFL champions for the first time.

Remo Stars’ remarkable journey is a testament to the team’s resilience and determination and source of motivation for private investors in our football space as they inch closer to securing the league title, fans, supporters and co private club owners are eagerly anticipating the historic crowning day hopefully it’s not far away anymore after coming close twice in the two previous two seasons.
