National President, Football Fans Club of Nigeria, FFCN, *Ambassador Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa* has assured football loving Nigerians to have faith in the present Olympics Eagles as they file out against Tanzanians on Saturday at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The CAF award winning Supporters Club Boss stated this while fielding questions from journalists shortly after arriving the ancient city of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Thursday.
According to the graduate of University of Lagos, she said she has utmost confidence that Nigeria’s U23 side will dispatch their Tanzanian counterparts on Saturday adding that the supporting drive of her members would spur the team to Victory.
Mama Nigeria as Ogunfuwa is fondly called said:
“We members of Football Fans Club of Nigeria ,FFCN are already in Ibadan to cheer Olympic Eagles to Victory. We missed the first leg in Dar es Salaam due to logistic reasons and thank God that Coach Salisu Yusuf-led technical crew picked a vital point on the road.This result that gave us confidence that the reversed fixture will favour Nigeria. We all knew that they did not have enough time to prepare the team before they travelled to Dar es Salaam. We’ll, kudos to the NFF ,under Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and of course the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare for their efforts at giving us a brilliant team. The team needs our support and prayers and I strongly believe Nigeria will advance to the next round amen”. Member of Lagos State Women Football Committee concluded.
Both teams played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam on Saturday last week, and goals are needed to separate them to determine which side goes ahead to face the winner of the fixture between Uganda and Guinea in the ultimate round before the continental finals slated for Morocco.
Meanwhile, match officials from Togo have also arrived, as all arrangements have been concluded by the Nigeria Football Federation, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Oyo State Government for the big clash.
Nigeria hosts Tanzania on Saturday, 29 October, 2022 at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan by 4pm
