Technical Director of Ijebu United, Akeem Busari has urged Nigeria U-23 Dream Team to be ruthless when they confront Tanzania this weekend in the return leg of Africa Olympic football qualifiers sheduled for Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan,Oyo State.
Nigeria were forced to play 1-1 draw in Tanzania home last week as winners of both teams would proceed to the next round of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying campaign sheduled for Morocco next year.
Busari in a chat with sports 247.ng said Nigeria stand the better chance to qualify for U-23 cup of nation and advised the players to go for early goal in the encounter.
“It is going to be a tough match because Tanzania would be coming with positive mind. The only thing our players should do is to attack and attack from the blast of whistle till the end of the game. They should not be complacent and reduce the missed scoring chances. We had opportunity to bury the game in the first leg but we missed some scoring chances so this is second chance and the players must be ruthless and go for early goals,”he said.
The former 3SC coach however commended the coaching crew led by Salisu Yusuf for the job well done in the first leg and urged the soccer loving Nigerians to come out emasse and give the boys their total support in order to qualify for U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
“The fans should play their part by supporting our boys to victory in Ibadan. This match is very crucial because a winner would qualify for U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco to determine the best three that would represent Africa in football event in Olympic Games in Paris,”he concluded.
