As the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL) and other lower leagues inches closer to a start, The General Manager of the Ekiti State Sports Council Chief Deji Samo has assured that the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti will be ready to host matches.
He made this know when the Chairman Ekiti State Football Association Mr. Bayo Olanlege led the FA Facilities Committee to his office to deliberate on the report of the Committee and way forward in preparation for the NNL and the NLO and the Female League.
You would recall that a few weeks ago Ekiti State FA set up a committee to meet with all clubs in the state to check their venue for home matches and offer advice on how best to make it better to aid good football.
Earlier this year work started on the playing surface of the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium but COVID-19 slowed down the pace of the work but Samo confirmed that the job is almost done and the playing surface will wear a better and decent look when the league resumes.
Oluyemi Kayode Stadium is one of the three stadiums named when the Nationwide League One (NLO) earlier in the week listed Ekiti state as one of the 8 zones to host the NLO Division 1 league for the 2020/2021 season
