Former Barcelona and Nigeria defender, Gbenga Okunowo says the Super Eagles are the favourites to win the Group E 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Despite the fact that Nigeria are third behind Libya and South Africa, Okunowo insists the Super Eagles are the top team to be feared in the group.
“If you make a picture of this group, we will say that the Super Eagles are the logical favourite,” Okunowo told Sports247.ng.
“We find ourselves in a difficult group. We know that South Africa is a great nation of African football and have qualified for two World Cups. This is a very strong team.
“The group also consists of Libya, who have very good individual players.”
The Super Eagles will face the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in a match day 3 battle on Saturday.
