Nigerian men’s basketball senior national team, D’Tigers star, Stan Okoye has predicted that the squad will remain formidable for the next stage of the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers in February.
In a chat with sports247.ng, Okoye shot a look ahead of the resumption of Nigeria’s race to the global title and, though, the team have the ticket wrapped up, he insists they will still go full throttle.
Okoye added that he expects Nigeria to present a star-studded roster in the series and play to win the remaining games of the qualifiers.
He retorted: “Although we have already booked our place at next year’s championship, winning all our remaining matches will give us a strategic advantage in the seedings and Olympic qualifiers.”
