Pyramids FC of Egypt midfielder, Azubuike Okechkwu says he is in line for a return to action with the money-bag club this weekend, following his absence last time out, due to suspension.
Sports247.ng learnt that, after serving the match ban for a red card, the Rio 2016 Olympics bronze medalist is on course to regain his place in his side.
Okechukwu said he aims help them win this weekend, in order to climb higher than current top placed rivals, Zamalek, who are six points ahead of his side on the league table.
The 21-year-old former under-23 national team captain got a red after a second yellow card during a 1-1 draw against Wadi Degla.
The former Turkey-based battler confessed that it was a painful day for him, as he was starting to enjoy a good run in the team following a knee injury that kept him out for almost four months.
Azubuike, who only has one cap for the Nigeria senior team, is eager to storm back stronger with Pyramids FC, who are currently second on the table with 26 points, six behind leaders Zamalek after 13 matches.
He added: “It was sad to miss the last match through suspension, but I’m back for the next game. I’ve been training with the team. I’m ready.”
