Ojomu told our correspondent that despite several communities under the Ibeju-Lekki local council, there is no single sports center in the axis and called on Governor Sanwo-Olu to assist the Lakowe community and its environs to build a befitting sports center.
“We are in dire need of a sports center in Ibeju-Lekki particularly the Lakowe community where our youths would be fully engaged through sporting activities. If you look at Ibeju-Lekki as a council, no single sports center is built here and It is not good for our youths.
“We are using this medium to appeal to our Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to look into this our plight in Lakowe and other communities such as Eputu, Abijo, Adeba, Kajola, Otunla, Bogije and Oribamiwa and others to give us sports center so that our youths would not travel far and near for football competitions,” he said.

In his own comment, the Leader of the Ibeju-Lekki Football Coaches Council, Victor Akinmoyo said one of the problems facing football teams in Ibeju-Lekki is the lack of good sports facilities.
He also appealed to Governor Sanwo-Olu to build at least two sports centers in Ibeju-Lekki so that the grassroots football club owners would not go to distance to go and play football competitions.
“Our league is starting this weekend but we lack a good football pitch. We can only manage some playgrounds we have selected and If we have two mini stadiums in some communities under Ibeju-Lekki, I think the league would attract more sponsorship and scouts within and outside the state,” he said.
