MFM FC defeated SKE FC 2-0 in the Gov Wike Unity Cup on Wednesday thanks to goals from new signing Michael Ohanu and Jonathan Zikiye.
Former Kwara United striker, Ohanu, applied a simple finish to net the opening goal in the Group B fixture at the Sharks Stadium on Wednesday.
Overlapping left back, Zikiye made the points safe with another goal at the dearth.
It was the first win for MFM in the pre season tourney in Port Harcourt as they fine tune preparations for their 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League campaign.
It was more of a cagey affair in the opening half hour as the two sides were very tactical in their approach.
Possession was kept in the midfield and the keepers were on holidays.
The game finally opened up in the 34th minute when the Olukoya Boys drew the curtain through Ohanu who tapped home from close range.
Zikiye put the icing on the cake with the second goal of the match at injury time.
MFM catapulted to the top of the group with five points from three games.
