Despite this, he expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall performance and determination to end the season on a positive note in their final match against Katsina United.
He emphasized their aim to secure three points and enjoy the game, noting that there was nothing significant at stake.
“Our target is not met. We didn’t meet our target. It’s rather unfortunate. We are not happy with that.
As a coach, I’m not. But in all, I’m impressed with what the boys have done so far, so good. And we always live to fight another day.
Secondly, for the game on Sunday against Katsina, the last game of the season, I would like to finish on a good note.
There is absolutely nothing at stake, so we’ll come to enjoy ourselves. Most importantly, get our maximum three points.” Coach Ogunmodede said.
Regarding lessons learned from the season, Coach Ogunmodede underlined the importance of continuous learning and improvement.
He pointed out that they could have performed better in the second round, particularly in securing more away points, which affected their overall standing and their ability to achieve their target.
When asked about the influence of football politics on winning the league in Nigeria, Coach Ogunmodede distanced himself from such views, stating that he focused solely on his job as a coach.
He expressed contentment with the effort the team had put in, despite external perceptions that might suggest otherwise.
Overall, Coach Ogunmodede’s remarks featured his pride in his team’s effort, despite falling short of their goals, and his commitment to self-evaluation and improvement moving forward.
