Remo Stars FC of Ikenne’s coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has gained a fresh round of accolades after helping the club clinch second position in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
It is the second straight season in which Honourable Kunle Soname’s club will end as runners-up up in the NPFL, and one of the players has reeled out lofty words of praise about the coach.

The latest bolt of plaudits is coming from the team’s captain, Junior Nduka, who revealed several laudable factors that have made Ogunmodede successful with one of a few private-owned clubs in Nigeria’s top-flight league.
As Remo Stars now prepare for their third assault on the African continental club terrain and second outing in the CAF Champions League, Nduka disclosed that he would personally be looking up to Ogunmodede for inspiration.
Nduka eulogised, “He is a top guy, dedicated to his job, and very hard working. Even when he’s not feeling fine or he’s not okay, you won’t even know. You will always see him there.
“I want to humbly describe him like Jesus, who did not abandon one lost sheep and go on with 99. He is someone who always carries everyone along without leaving anyone behind.
“He is always there, pushing us. He talks to us like an evangelist and tells us about life after football.
“There are so many other things he does that make him special, but I can’t say them all because of time. He’s just a top guy, a top coach and a good man.”
Remo Stars will now bank on Ogunmodede’s acumen to lead them to a better outing next season in the Champions League than they had this year and 2022 in the CAF Confederation Cup, when they fell at the first qualifying stage on both occasions.
