In the aftermath of the Super Eagles’ resounding 2-0 victory over Cameroon in the AFCON round of 16, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, the Ogun State FA chairman and NFF executive board member, shared his perspective on the match, emphasizing the display of true Nigerian spirit.
Majekodunmi dismissed claims that Cameroon’s perceived underperformance was solely due to luck, asserting, “True 9JA spirit was displayed yesterday in our game against the indomitable lion of Cameroon. Many say that Cameroon did not play anything, simply meaning that the Super Eagles were lucky. But thOgun Statee fact is that our players gave it all. The coach did his own part, and at the end of the day, the result of hard work showed up.”
Highlighting the unwavering effort of the players throughout the entire 90 minutes, he commended their dedication and energy. “It is not about Cameroon not playing well.
