Ogun state is set to host the first ever SouthWest Para-Powerlifting Developmental Championship (SPDC).
The competition is scheduled to hold between December 8th and 11th, 2019, at the Otunba Dipo Dina International stadium, at Ijebu Ode.
The competition will see all the SouthWestern state of Nigeria, that include the host state Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti competing for honours.
The competition that was envisioned by the Ogun state Para-Powerlifting Association, is aimed at further developing the game of Para-Powerlifting.
According to the Chairman of the Association, who also doubles as the 2nd Vice President of the Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation, Deacon Gbolahan Eweje, the competition is also aimed at discovering talents, that can be nurtured into national and international stardom.
