Oghenekaro Etebo linked up with Galatasaray at the start of the current campaign on a season-long loan from Stoke City.
However, the 25-year-old has failed to make a meaningful impact with the Yellow and Reds since his arrival in Istanbul.
According to multiple reports from Turkey, Galatasaray wants to cut short the loan agreement halfway into the season.
In response to the speculations, Stoke City manager Michael O’Neil dismissed the idea of Etebo returning to the English club this month.
“It’s definitely a rumor. The players who are out on loan are out on loan for the season and that won’t change,” O’Neill said in a pre-match press conference on Friday.
“It was what they wanted at that period in time. They made that decision and we made that decision as a club.
“Maybe because the loan hasn’t gone well, you can’t just decide you want to come back. It doesn’t work like that.
“We don’t envisage any of the loan players who are currently at various clubs returning to Stoke in January.”
Etebo has been unable to cement his spot in the Galatasaray side. He has made just 11 appearances across all competitions this term, with 8 in the Super Lig.
