Former president of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Evangelist (Chief) Solomon Ogba JP has expressed delight in winning the election to emerge as first vice-president of Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).
In the wake of the NOC annual general meeting and election in Yola, Ogba said in a chat with spors247.ng that he was happy to get the nod from the majority of votes and thanked all those who gave him the nod.
The publisher and former commissioner for sports in Delta State admitted it is a call to duty and another chapter in his role of leadership in the sports sector.
Ogba promised to hit the ground running with new ideas to further uplift the NOC, especially as the new board was inaugurated immediately at the venue.
He pledged: “I will simply set out to continue to bring progress to Nigerian sports and work to better the lot of the country at the international level. “
