Divine Praise FC has sealed qualification to National League One, NLO 1 following the nervy 1-0 victory against Dosu Joseph FC today in the final playoff game at the Surulere Legacy Pitch.

Having emerged winners of their various groups, both sides knew what was at stake before the encounter with the game looking more favorable for Dosu Joseph who are unbeaten in the season but they fell to a well tutored Dominic Onyeji’s side who haven’t been consistent in the group games although they won three games on a row at the beginning of the campaign.
Ignatius Williams wrote his name in the history books of the club with this solo goal in the first half sealing the qualification berth for his side in a thrilling, fans packed encounter today.
Assessing his side’s victory after the game, a delighted Dominic Onyeji was short of words to describe the joy of the moment.
“I’m very happy, so excited and I will on referencing that it’s the Lord’s doing, without him, we couldn’t have achieved this,” he said in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.
“From the beginning of the season, the boys performed so well although we had a lot of Injured players but we managed the team well, we saw our mistakes, went back and made the necessary corrections and that’s why we are here,” he added.
On thier plans going forward after the qualification – “We will go back and set the team ready for NLO 1. We want to keep the boys together and with the management backing us, we will see some new faces because some players were disqualified in the screening process.”
