Atalanta have completed a deal to sign Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig for a fee of €15 million plus add-ons. Lookman agreed to terms with the Serie A club on a four-year contract until June 30, 2026.
The Nigerian international could make his official debut for Atalanta as early as the 13th of next month when the club take on Sampdoria in their first league game of the 2022-23 campaign.
“Atalanta BC announces the definitive purchase of the player Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig. Born in Wandsworth on 20 October 1997, he is a very fast and technical attacking winger, skilled in dribbling and attacking depth, able to cover more positions on the offensive front,” the club commented.
Lookman joined RB Leipzig permanently in July 2019 from Everton after a brief loan spell with the Bundesliga club in 2018. He spent the last two seasons on loan at Fulham and Leicester City.
In his three years association with Leipzig, Lookman made just 24 appearances for the club, scoring five goals.
