Ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to hold in Cameroon, 2019 AFCON top scorer Odion Ighalo has urged well-meaning and football-loving Nigerians to throw their weight behind the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club.
The former Manchester United striker who recently celebrated his birthday received a team of ANFASSC led by the National President Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi and reiterated his support for the brand.
In a video, the former Watford of England goal machine put on a customized jersey of the Supporters Club and admonished people to be part of the Authentic brand as Nigeria aims for a fourth African title in Cameroon.
In his words “Road to Cameroon 2021, this is the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club, join them, Support them, see you there (Cameroon)”.
National President of ANFASSC, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi corroborated the words of the Al Shabab FC of Saudi Arabia striker, he added that the supporters club is opened to new ideas and will welcome individuals, corporate bodies, and the government at all levels should they show interest in buying into the brand.
“It’s a privilege to have Odion Ighalo preaching the Authentic gospel, it’s an attestation that we have done some things right and we are still doing more, however, we are still opened to having supports from different walks of life”.
“We have a plan to make our outing in Cameroon very special and unique, we would definitely appreciate the support of all and sundry in achieving our aim and it’s our belief that the Super Eagles will deliver in the neighboring country”
ANFASSC presented Ighalo with a well-packaged, customized jersey as part of his birthday celebration, the supporters club also put up a quality display as they rolled out the drums and another musical instrument to the delight of everyone present.
