FC Zurich of Switzerland striker, Stephen Odey has declared that he is staying focused on getting an opportunity of playing in the Super Eagles before the Africa Cup of Nations.
Odey said in an exclusive interview with sports247.ng that he was initially bothered by the continued shut-out he is getting from Eagles’ crew, but added that he is now waiting patiently for his chance to come.
While waiting, though, the former Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministry (MFM) FC of Lagos youngster said he will continue working hard to do well with his club.
Odey is of a view that more thrills from him in the Swiss Super League will turn the attention of Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr and his assistants to what he is doing with FC Zurich and the will eventually call him up.
He admitted: “Being overlooked by the Super Eagles’ coaches despite my fine form for my club bothered me for a while.
“I earned a call up once, but I have not been invited since the current coach took over the Super Eagles.
“But, I am no longer worried. All I want to do now is take my time and continue doing well for my club. I only just need to keep my focus.”
