Ekiti football enthusiast Mr. Taiwo Odebunmi has thrown his weight behind the Ekiti state football association.
The former executive board member of the Nigeria football federation noted that the association led by Bayo Olanlege is on the right part to achieve greater things that were not done by the predecessors.
“In Ekiti State, am happy that our football administration is blessed with a dynamic and passionate leadership “
He further advised Governor Kayode Fayemi led the government to work with the association in making sports especially football in getting the desired attention.
“I plead with the government of the day to partner with this team by creating an enabling environment and give needed support for our football to be taken to the next level”
The former Julius Berger Player highlighted the impact of football and sports in the development of society citing his personal example.
“People like myself wouldn’t have had the opportunity of completing our higher education if not for sports. Because Julius Berger FC discovered our talents in football while we were students at The Polytechnic Ibadan and hired us to play for the club with good salaries and allowances. This liberated us from poverty and today we are accomplished Professionals”
