Rivers Hoopers Basketball Club of Port Harcourt coach, Odaudu Ogoh has disclosed that he is already planning big for a resounding outing by his team in the Afro Basketball League next year.
Following confirmation that the Afro League now replaces the previous FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup, Ogoh told sports247.ng that his side will be in the right frame of mind and physical shape to triumph again.
He acknowledged that they picked the ticket to next year’s elite competition by virture of a solid outing at the 2018 FIBA Africa Zone 3 qualifiers in Cotonou, Benin republic.
Ogoh, who expressed delight that fellow Nigerian side, Civil Defence of Abuja also picked a ticket, despite losing to his side in the first game, is now setting sight on more glorious outings for Nigeria at club level in the game of giants.
“We are happy that we picked the ticket alongside Civil Defenders. Now we have to work harder and ensure we make the best of the tickets.
“Nigerian basketball is on the spotlight again, at club level this time, and we have to make us of the opportunities next year,” said Ogoh.
