The president of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Mr. Sam Ocheho has congratulated the National Under 18 and 20 handball male teams for their successful outing at the IHF Trophy Tournament for Africa Zone 3 which concluded at Ivory Coast last Sunday.
Nigeria’s Male under 18 and 20 teams won the finals of the championship against host Ivory Coast and subsequently qualified for the continental championship which will hold in Congo.
HFN President Sam Ocheho, while congratulating the teams after they came back to Lagos, charge the teams and their officials not relent as this is just the first huddle in their quest for greatness.
He also said that the board of the federation will continue to support the teams as they prepare for the continental championship.
“I am so happy that you all went to Ivory Coast unassuming and came back heroes. Your exploits in the championship was one that people will not forget and I want to congratulate you for making Nigeria proud”. Ocheho said.
“I, on behalf of the board of the Handball Federation of Nigeria congratulate you and we want to charge you not to relent on this effort as there are still more mountains to be climbed and more feats to achieve.
We still have the continental championships and that is important in our quests to get into the World championship.
So we urge you to keep the momentum and the federation will continue to support you as you commence preparation soon” Ocheho concluded.
Meanwhile, the IHF Trophy Continental phase which was to hold in Brazzaville, Congo from the December 12-18, 2022 will now hold from January 16 – 20, 2023 according to a letter sent to presidents of participating countries and signed by Charles Omboumahou, the secretary general of the Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB).
