Onome Obruthe, Fubs Super Admin 2, today in Lagos made the first class Nigerian Whatsapp platform proud, as he scored the winning goal in the 2-1 demolition of The Salvation Army Football team, in a friendly match played at the Legacy Pitch. Onome’s winning goal was the icing on the cake with just 10 minutes left to play.
It was from a free kick at the edge of the opponents penalty box, taken by former Super Eagles midfielder, Friday Ekpo. Zico as he is fondly called took the free kick finding Onome who jumped far above Salvation Army defenders with eyes on the ball before nodding the ball to the far left of goalkeeper Gbenga Joseph, for the wonderful goal that was greeted by a loud ovation from the full capacity Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Lagos.
Despite earlier playing a friendly game at the Sangotedo area of Lagos at 8am and arriving 20 minutes late for the game against Salvation Army that paraded a very young team, Onome’s inclusion gave the needed bite to the Fubs team as he twice made goal attempts at the opponents dangerous area.
